Privacy policy

IGS Speaking is the internal English speaking assessment system of Ivy Global School (igsc.edu.vn), used by the school's own students. This policy is written for parents.

What we keep

• Student details provided by the school: name, student ID, grade, class and a cartoon avatar (a real photo is never required).
• Each assessment: the questions your child received, the recording of each answer, the speech-to-text transcript, the score suggested by AI and every decision the reviewing teacher made.
• Technical details that keep the assessment fair: timing, browser type, the microphone check result, how often the assessment window lost focus, and a hashed IP address.

What we do not do

• We never take photos or video of students.
• We never use the data for advertising and never sell or share it for commercial purposes.
• Children do not need an email or a password: they sign in with a class code, their avatar and a picture password given by their teacher.

How the data is used

Recordings are sent to Microsoft Azure speech recognition and to Anthropic's Claude AI model for scoring only. Every score is checked by a teacher before it is shown to the student or their family.

Retention and deletion

Recordings are kept for up to three years and then deleted automatically. Parents can ask for earlier deletion through their child's homeroom teacher or the school office.
